God Our Source of Supply

The First Commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me," states briefly but completely the law governing the demonstration of supply in Christian Science. The mental state in which most mortals find themselves when Christian Science first comes into their experience is one of worshiping gods many.

In Christian Science, it is demonstrable that man exists as a complete, perfect, spiritual idea; as the reflection of God, perfect divine Mind. Since God, Mind, is good, man, God's reflection, expresses Him in this characteristic, as in all others.

But so-called mortal mind, imposing its false conclusions on mankind as mankind's own thinking, is ignorant of man's true existence as the beloved child of God, already possessing all that the Father has. So this so-called mind believes man to be incomplete, because separated from God, good, and subject to laws of lack and reversal. Having admitted that the unreal is real, it argues persistently for the lie and greatly fears the false material premises which spring from its own self-deception.
