Christian Science has so many times brought healing to...
Christian Science has so many times brought healing to me and to members of my family that I hardly know where to begin to tell of its blessings. For the healing of my son I am especially grateful. About seven years ago this son, then about ten years old, did not do well in school; his eyes seemed to be giving him a great deal of trouble. An oculist who examined him said he was very farsighted and needed glasses, that he would always need them, and that the glasses would have to be changed frequently. Aside from the eye trouble, my son coughed much of the time and was very pale. The last-mentioned condition seemed to give the oculist, who was also a physician, much concern, but he was very kind and did not voice his fears in the presence of my son. I left his office with a heavy heart. The problem seemed too big for me, but it was not too big for God. Immediately I commenced Christian Science work for my boy. In two weeks from that time I was to go to my Association meeting. I could see no improvement in the boy, but I left him knowing that I was doing all that I could do, and that he was in God's care. When I returned home three days later, the cough had stopped, and he was perfectly well, except that he still needed glasses to read. I am glad to say that before the end of the school year the glasses were laid aside, and his sight has remained normal ever since. He does excellent work in school, and is unusually strong.
In our family Christian Science has healed colds, influenza, ivy poisoning, hemorrhoids, an ulcerated tooth, and many other ills. My children have been protected by it from contagious diseases. For these things I am grateful. Words alone cannot express my gratitude to God and to Christ Jesus for revealing the Science of being to the world. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her pure life and unselfish labors that humanity might have the precious gift of spiritual healing.—(Mrs.)Mary Greene Ikenberry, Adel, Iowa.
