People become interested in Christian Science in many ways: some because they are looking for a means of relief from illness which has not yielded to ordinary medical treatment; some because they are looking for a religion which fulfills the requirements laid down by Jesus, a religion which meets their every need; some because they have never previously understood the real meaning, significance, and nature of prayer, the prayer which heals the sick as well as reforms the sinner; and others because they cannot reconcile much of what they see happening in the world with a divine plan of government.
