Signs of the Times

[Rev. Dr. James H. Snowden, as quoted in the New York Times, New York]

Man sees more when he looks up than when he looks down, and a vision leads us on and up into the glorious land of our brotherhood of man. Visions are victories carrying promises of their own fulfillment, creating a new and better world. The mainspring of progress is doing old things in a little better way. The commonest duty may open a door leading to a life everlasting, pointing a way to the greatest vision that hovers over the world. Only by our visions can we release the best that is in us.
