[Original testimony in German]
"The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we...
"The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad," declared the Psalmist. And gladness opens the way for gratitude, and gratitude makes blessed. This is what I should like to say in thinking of all the good I have experienced in Christian Science.
I was filled with great joy after reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I became acquainted with a practitioner who seemed totally different from the people I had hitherto known. She always met me with friendliness, untiring patience, and unswerving faith in my health and perfection as a child of God. I read the Christian Science Lesson-Sermon daily, and feel myself blessed and strengthened by doing so. Truly Christian Science can be applied to all problems; and it is never found wanting if practiced with a right understanding. Through it one learns to understand that God is a refuge in every trouble.
I was healed of tuberculosis of the ears in a very short time. I was healed of constipation of many years' standing. The first finger of my left hand was quite stiff one morning, the skin being dry and cracked. I wrote to the practitioner of whom I have already spoken. The second morning after she had received my letter, the finger was normal again. I was healed of a severe attack of the grippe, of chronic catarrh of the throat, and of discouragement and melancholy. Anxiety and lack also disappeared. When I seemed to be in need of material things, they were often given to me in a wonderful manner; that is, God gave me what I needed. Through my own understanding I often had the opportunity to help domestic animals.
