I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science...
I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for a few of the blessings that have come to me. For some years I suffered from a severe form of heart trouble. During one of our services, while the Lesson-Sermon was being read, I had an attack and became unconscious of all except the voices of the Readers. All fear of these attacks must have been destroyed then, as only once since that time have the symptoms returned, when I was able to put them out of thought immediately.
The experience of a painless childbirth was wonderfully helpful to me. Quotations from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy which came to me quieted all fear of pain. Extraction of teeth without suffering was another proof of the efficacy of Christian Science treatment. Experiences in dentistry previous to this had always been most painful. Several stumps were removed at this time without an anæsthetic or pain.
For the peace, assurance, and definite understanding of God which Mrs. Eddy has given us, and which makes it possible for us to obey the command of Jesus when he said, "Freely ye have received, freely give;" for the loving help of Christian Science practitioners; for our churches and other activities of this great movement, I am most grateful.—(Mrs.) Edith Maud Cornish, West Ewell, Surrey, England.
