[Written for the Sentinel]
Consecration
Give
me the open eye to see
The work which Thou hast planned for me,
The listening ear that I may hear
Thy loving voice forever near.
And teach my lips Thy praise to sing
In grateful, humble offering.
Guide Thou my hand some path to smooth,
Some burden lift, some brow to soothe.
And let my feet be swift to run
To do Thy bidding, Holy One!
So shall my life, reflecting Thine,
Reveal Thy light and love divine.
