Lecturer: Judge Frederick C. Hill; introduced by John Stanz, who said:—

The Psalmist said, "Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word." Because I could not make practical the religion I was taught in my youth, or other philosophies entertained at different times, I strayed for twenty years until afflicted with blood poisoning, which the attending physician predicted would end fatally. Man's extremity proved to be God's opportunity. Christian Science was recommended, treatment asked for, and I was quickly healed. Upon investigation I found to my glad surprise that God's word could be kept and made practical by strict adherence to the teachings of Christian Science.
