Only those who have lived for years in a home where sickness...
Only those who have lived for years in a home where sickness and want seemed to be ever present, and health and the necessities of life ever absent, can realize what a wonderful experience it is to be lifted out of such discordant conditions into health, happiness, and an understanding of ever present divine Love.
In 1918 my wife was condemned by the doctors as suffering from hereditary decline and floating kidneys, and certainly it seemed as if nothing could help her. She was very thin and weak, and apparently unable to take any interest in life. Our young daughter also seemed to be a weaking, requiring constant medical attention, including that of a children's specialist in Johannesburg. In fact, I never knew, when arriving home from business in the evening, which one would be in bed ill.
The climax came when our daughter was seemingly attacked by another disease and the doctor ordered both mother and daughter to the coast at once. I sold my home forthwith to pay doctors' bills and transportation. In due course we all met at Cape Town. Between the time of leaving Johannesburg and arriving in Cape Town my daughter had grown much worse, asthma and hay fever having developed to an alarming degree.
