Before I became interested in Christian Science I had always felt when saying, "Thy kingdom come," in the Lord's Prayer, a great desire to know the kingdom of heaven, although, like most people, I felt that it could not be known in human experience. After studying the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I began to appreciate the teaching of Christ Jesus when he said, as recorded in Luke's Gospel, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." Christian Science teaches that the attainment of this spiritual consciousness is possible now.
