[Written for the Sentinel]
"No condemnation"
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."—Romans 8:1.
"There
is therefore now no condemnation." Blessed words
Bringing freedom from fear
And strength and power to consciousness!
That which God hath clothed with His own godly nature
Can fold within itself no element of earth to be condemned;
And man forever made in His pure image,
Forever royal, beautiful, complete,
Resplendent shines in the glistering robes of righteousness,
The ring upon his hand. And even as the rays of light emanating from the sun's brightness
Reflect the glories of the sun,
So man, the God-created, indestructible in Spirit,
Reflects the never ending glory
Of the One "altogether lovely," the most to be adored!
Never can evil find a place within his thinking,
Nor even claim to operate or bind;
For the thoughts of the one Mind, so high, so holy,
Like a clear and ever flowing stream,
Unceasing in its action,
Flow unrestrained from God to man.
What though the waves of error
Seem to thrash and beat like heavy surges rolling!
They cannot come into that place
Where, hid with Truth in Love,
Man stands untouched, forever uncondemned,
Because serene and unafraid
He dwells in Spirit's wide infinitude.
