About eleven years ago I came into Christian Science...
About eleven years ago I came into Christian Science through the healing of a condition which had given me great distress, and from which I had not found relief in any other form of treatment. I immediately took up the study of this beautiful truth, and found not only physical relief but a demonstrable religion, one that helped me in every way and has been especially helpful to me in my business.
Since this first healing I have been healed, in about four or five weeks, of what I am sure would have been pronounced pneumonia by a doctor. I was not absent a week from my business, and was sustained by what I knew of Christian Science and the aid of a practitioner, when all about me were voicing fears of all kinds. I have also had numerous other healings, of colds, beatings in both ears, and many other minor ills. Like many others I do not undervalue these beautiful healings, but I am more grateful for the understanding of God and man as revealed to us through Christian Science, especially for its teaching about evil, that "it is neither person, place, nor thing," as Mrs. Eddy states on page 71 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
