With great gratitude I wish to testify how, with the help of God coming to me through Christian Science, I was completely healed of a serious illness.

In 1922 I was suddenly taken very ill. The physician who was immediately called at first diagnosed the disease as grippe. After I had been under his treatment for five weeks, he said I was suffering from tubercular suppuration in the spine, and must go at once to a hospital in order to undergo an operation. This was immediately performed, but although I was in the hospital twenty-four weeks, I was discharged unhealed. After I had been at home about five months, my condition grew so much worse that we sent for a physician again. He said I must again go to the hospital immediately to undergo another operation, to which I agreed.

On the way to the hospital I met a dear relative, who called my attention to the wonderful healings in Christian Science and who asked me to visit a Christian Science practitioner before going to the hospital. This I did. The practitioner took a most loving interest in me. She explained to me that nothing is impossible with God if we only have firm confidence in His power and in His love; that the healing and saving Christ is ever present; and that I could go home with confidence and need not go to the hospital again. I followed her advice and returned home. Then I took Christian Science treatment and was perfectly healed in one week.
