Some years ago I suffered from constipation and chronic appendicitis, culminating in an acute attack. I was a teacher in the Christian Science Sunday School, and had been very regular in my attendance. This acute attack occurred at eight o'clock one Sunday morning, but through the loving help of a dear sister I was healed in less than three hours, attended the church service at a quarter to eleven, and taught my class at twelve.
Since then I have been free, except for an occasional bowel difficulty, which has yielded quickly. Health, vigor, and strength are mine, enabling me to do work involving heavy lifting. Of help in the solution of this problem has been the study of the passage from Colossians, "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;" also the following from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 413): "Mind regulates the condition of the stomach, bowels, and food, the temperature of children and of men, and matter does not."
Through the application of Christian Science an ugly growth on my forehead has entirely disappeared. Chronic catarrh of the head and severe sick headaches have also been wiped out. An attack of diphtheria yielded to the truth, so that but three days were lost from work. For these healings, and for the great help which Christian Science daily, hourly, gives me in my work, I am sincerely grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, to Mrs. Eddy, and to one of her loyal students from whom I have had the privilege of receiving class instruction.
