It is with gratitude and love that I find myself privileged to give my testimony of what Christian Science has done for me while passing through very deep waters.

Over two years ago I was forced to undergo a very serious operation for strangulated hernia, which, according to the doctors, was almost a hopeless case, as a gangrenous condition had been manifested; but a Christian Science practitioner, through her clear understanding of Truth and Love, was able to overcome every condition that arose, much to the amazement of the doctors and nurses; and my quick recovery went on record at the hospital as one of the most remarkable of its kind. There was no period of convalescence. I was able to walk up three flights of stairs in less than a week after leaving the hospital; and I have continued going about as usual, sometimes walking several miles a day.

I am truly grateful for the healings I have experienced; but for the spiritual uplift and the regeneration of thought that have come to me through the study of Christian Science I am even more deeply thankful. Only through striving to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus" can we show true gratitude to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for this glorious truth that she has made possible for us to understand and demonstrate.
