During the five years I have been interested in Christian Science I have benefited both physically and spiritually.
My first test came when I was a student in an expert business training school. In that work we were requested to make a speed grade unusually high, and at first I believed myself unable to do it. However, with the help of a Christian Scientist I was instructed how to lean on God and trust Him as the Giver of all that is good and the source of all capability. When I did this trustingly, I was able to complete the course and make the required speed grade.
Soon after that the question as to where I should be placed became uppermost, and by seeking understanding again and knowing that God always provides when we have done our part, I was given an appointment in Washington to serve in the Civil Service. When I arrived there, I was sent to the Bureau of Appointment to be classified according to grades and qualifications, and was delighted to find that the captain who placed me held my grades among the best, saying that during the whole week, when hundreds were coming to Washington every day, my grade was the best among the girls he had placed. So now I know that the grade requirement which I had so much feared was not a deterrent, as it appeared to be at first; but after I had seen it from the point of view of divine understanding and proved that God's ideas can do all that is necessary, it became a blessing.
