Current Notes

Aberdeen Daily World

Aberdeen, Washington (First Church).—The ground floor of the new edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, at Third and I Streets, Aberdeen, which has been under construction for the past several months, is now completed, and services are being held there. The new church is two stories in height, the lower portion being of reinforced concrete and the upper of wooden construction. The first floor is intended to be used wholly for Sunday school purposes, after completion of the main auditorium. Until this auditorium is ready, church services will be held on the lower floor, direct entry to which is from the I Street side. Entry to the main auditorium, when completed, will be from Third Street. The site for the new church is considered one of the best for the purpose in the city. The building is a combination of Corinthian and colonial architecture. The main auditorium will be sixty-four feet by sixty-four feet and will seat, with balcony, about seven hundred and fifty persons. The Sunday school room is of the same dimensions.
