Truth Always Triumphs

"Truth is always the victor." So writes Mrs. Eddy on page 380 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures;" and Jesus proved this true in every act of his life among men. Early in his public ministry he declared that all evil "is a liar, and the father of it," since it abides "not in the truth, because there is no truth in him." Arraigned before Pilate, Jesus summed up his entire life-purpose when he declared, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth."

It was therefore Jesus' understanding of and loyalty to Truth which made it possible for him to rise superior to every lie of the supposititious liar—that made it possible for him to prove the omnipresent reality of good and the consequent nothingness of all evil. From his entrance into the arena of human experience to the moment of his ascension, he was proving himself to be for all the Way-shower out of the flesh into the spiritual identity of the sons of God; and no one can ever find salvation from evil in any other way than through the same fidelity to Truth which Jesus always evidenced.

At each Eastertide the entire Christian world is arrested anew to contemplate Jesus' marvelous demonstration over death and the grave; and for centuries men have stood in profoundest awe before what they have recognized as the most stupendous work which has ever been accomplished among men. While Christians have believed this work was done to save men from all evil, such salvation has largely been relegated to a future heaven, which was to be attained through accepting Jesus as their personal Saviour.
