In July, 1915, when Christian Science was brought to my attention, it found me a broken, discouraged, desolate man. I called on a practitioner one Sunday afternoon and enjoyed one of the happiest and most satisfying conversations I had ever had. I felt when I left that room that if I became efficient in the letter and imbued with the spirit of the teaching the lady so cheerfully explained to me, no ills could possibly befall me that Love could not or would not remove. I was thoroughly comforted.

I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and borrowed and read a copy of "The Life of Mary Baker Eddy" by Sibyl Wilbur, and in the next few months purchased and read all of Mrs. Eddy's writings. Since then I have read or studied little else but the Holy Bible, together with the writings of our Leader and other authorized Christian Science literature.

Smallpox, abscesses, colds, bodily injuries, catarrh, constipation, neuralgia of the face and jaw, sprains, burns, blood poisoning, toothache, headache, genito-urinary trouble, through the teachings of Christian Science have been clearly and fully demonstrated to be unreal, simply false mental states of the so-called human mind.
