I wish to express my gratitude for the great amount of good that has come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. That "man's extremity is God's opportunity" I surely proved to be true; for when I reached the place where all material help had failed I willingly took the advice of a friend to try Christian Science, although I knew nothing about it. I had spent about two years having one physician after another (some of them specialists of very fine reputation), and trying one kind of medicine after another, in an effort to find a healing for neuritis, which at times deprived me of the use of my limbs. As I was the sole support of my mother, I felt that I had to continue at work, although at times in such pain and despair that the experiences of Job were not unlike my own. My friend introduced me to a Christian Science practitioner, and help was lovingly give. The healing was slow; but I am grateful now that it did not come faster, as I had to "stand fast" and apply what I was learning. As I worked, one by one the inharmonious conditions, which seemed so real and so much a part of my life, vanished, and health, better financial conditions, and more of that peace that "passeth all understanding" took their place.

I believe the happiest experiences I have had since taking up the study of Christian Science have been when I was approached by acquaintances who knew nothing about Christian Science, and who were laboring under burdens seemingly too great to bear. Then I have realized what a "pearl of great price" Christian Science is, that it is something which will bless all, and that I could help, no matter what seemed to be the claim of mortal mind, by speaking the truth, which is greater than any belief in a power apart from God; whereas, in the old way of thinking, I could only sympathize with them and say I was sorry.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church of this city.
