Several months ago, while playing golf with three friends, a sudden shower caused us to scurry to shelter. Arriving there, I was attempting to climb on to a bench, in order to be more secure from the rain, when without any warning the bench collapsed and I fell with my full weight on my hip on the narrow edge of the bench. I immediately declared that with God there are no accidents, and with the exception of a slight shock and a very faint bruise there was nothing left to indicate that I had experienced such a fall. My friends ran to my assistance, fearing, because of my age (sixty-four years) and my weight (two hundred pounds) that I must have received a broken hip or an internal injury. I am thankful to say that not even the skin was broken; and I afterward continued playing, feeling no ill effects then or since. I am most grateful for this demonstration of God's protecting care.
