A few years ago I was in a very bad way mentally and physically, suffering from an acute form of heart disease, from which physicians and a specialist offered little hope of recovery. In this miserable condition a friend brought me some Christian Science literature, and I commenced to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This led me to ask for treatment; and in one week I was healed. Many other ailments were overcome in the months that followed—chronic constipation, hemorrhoids, indigestion, and an attack of scarlet fever in five days without any after effects—all these with the help of a loving practitioner.

Later, through consecrated study and application of the rules of Christian Science, I was able to overcome many ugly traits of character and to glimpse, though faintly, the child of God's creating. I should like to repeat with the Apostle Paul, "I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
