Only a mother who has had to depend on material means for help and then finds how much more easily difficulties are met when God is found to be the only physician, can appreciate how grateful I am to Mrs. Eddy for giving us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." This book has made the Bible a better understood book, and has unfolded to us the teachings which before seemed miraculous and almost impossible to follow.

Up to about twelve years ago, my husband and I were active members of a denominational church, and thought we worshiped only one God. We have since learned that our allegiance was divided; for we were using material means for physical difficulties and doubted God's ability to heal, even though we implored Him in our daily prayers to do so.

After a series of operations, at which time the doctors and surgeons were faithful and conscientious workers to the best of their knowledge, the thought began to knock at our mental door that if God was our loving Father and we were His children, why should we be subject to such experiences? As a result of these thoughts, we were led to the study of Christian Science; and I am more grateful than I can say, for this. When our last child was born, the birth was almost painless. Many so-called children's diseases have been overcome in a very short time; and constipation, boils, dengue fever, pneumonia are some of the names given to other troubles that have yielded quickly to the right application of Christian Science teaching.
