In retrospect I see a life which had been without hope...

In retrospect I see a life which had been without hope redeemed and made useful by the light of Christian Science. From the moment I saw the words "divine Principle," in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I began to get my bearings, and gradually came into a condition of steadiness and normality. Never had I known good health. An anaemic child grown to a delicate young woman, alone, deprived of everything that made life bearable, Christian Science appeared to me as a great light; and each day since, for nineteen years, it has never ceased to grow brighter and to increase in utility. Almost at once I attained a state of perfect health, which has remained with me. One evening, a few years ago, I received a serious injury to the spine by being thrown from a horse on to the pavement while galloping at full speed. One limb was rendered useless and there was great pain. But I continued all night in prayer, and the following morning was able to walk to church, rejoicing.

Can one who has been the recipient of such blessings be grateful enough? I rejoice that there was one on earth—our much loved Leader—in this age pure enough to take in the view of the ever present Christ; and I also rejoice that it was possible for our Leader to establish a church which is so founded that it can never be disrupted from within or without.—(Mrs.) Helen M. Mullin, Los Angeles, California.
