Through the wonderful truth of Christian Science we have...
Through the wonderful truth of Christian Science we have first of all come to know God. This knowledge has given us an abundant sense of things. When we were without any seeming source of income in a strange city, among strange people, we found Christian Science; and through the application of this truth by a practitioner, a position for my husband was secured. This was about seven years ago, and he is still with the same concern, but serving in a much higher capacity than when he started.
During these years we have had many instances of the power of Truth; namely, whooping cough prevented through the elimination of fear of contagion; measles and mumps healed; Spanish influenza healed before our last baby was born. This last trouble seemed quite a problem to the physician at such a time, as according to medical belief it meant losing either the mother or the baby: we are both here to-day. A finger caught in an electrically operated wash wringer was instantaneously healed, and rupture of at least five years' standing, causing great pain and other inconveniences, was healed in about fifteen minutes. This healing came to our little daughter, then nine years old. At that time she was quite delicate and had no appetite. To-day she is eleven years old, on weighs about one hundred and four pounds. I could go on telling of many more healings; but let these suffice.
I am grateful for every activity of the Christian Science movement, more particularly for the Sunday school, where the children learn to use this truth without hesitation and without the need of argument. Our boy, four years old, has healed toothache and other minor ailments through asking God "to take it away." Our daughter is also able to solve her own little problems.
