Among the Churches

Current Notes

St. Louis Globe-Democrat

St. Louis, Missouri (Sixth Church).—Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, has recently dedicated its new church building on Natural Bridge Avenue, between Spring and Prairie Avenues. An added feature of the event is the fact that the church has been financed on a cash basis without a mortgage or loan. The exterior of the building is constructed of brick trimmed in terra cotta, in classic architecture. Ionic columns of Bedford stone and a granite approach provide the setting to the entrance. The interior has a spacious foyer with a large fireplace, and four pairs of wide stairs lead up to the main auditorium, which has a seating capacity of approximately twelve hundred. Separate Sunday school rooms situated above the ground level are provided, accommodating seven hundred pupils. The structure occupies a lot of one hundred and seventy feet, with a depth of one hundred and fifty-four feet, affording adequate setting for the building, which is one hundred and twenty-seven by one hundred and five feet.—St. Louis Globe-Democrat.
