Being a seafaring man, I am often prevented from attending Wednesday evening testimony meetings; but I have many times received beneficial results through reading the testimonies of healing published in our periodicals, and I should like to reciprocate by telling of some of the many blessings that have come to me and mine through the study and practice of Christian Science.

Before I knew anything of this Science, almost a dozen years ago, I accepted a position in Alaska, and with my wife and our son moved north. We were total strangers, and in order to become accustomed to our new surroundings spent much of our leisure roaming about the town. One Wednesday evening my wife noticed a sign announcing that Christian Science services were being held in an upper hall, and remarked, "Let us go in; they may amuse us." Neither of us had been raised in church-going families, and our thoughts on religion were almost agnostic. Little did we realize the wonderful regeneration that awaited us through being led to that meeting, apparently by idle curiosity.

The dignity of that service, and the kind welcome extended by those present, induced us to continue attending the meetings, the result being that in a very short while we purchased our first Bible, as well as a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and our son was attending the Sunday school.
