During the past year we have had many wonderful healings in our home, including that of whooping cough, tonsillitis, lumbago, eczema, and colds. Three years ago I had an experience of practically painless childbirth.

It has been made so clear to me lately that there is no avenue through which a healing come more surely than through gratitude; and I should like to illustrate this by an experience I had last fall. My eldest little girl, a child of four, when catching the clothes as they came through an electric wringer, caught her hand between the roll of the wringer and the guard. I took the machine apart as far as possible, but still was unable to free her hand. I immediately declared the truth aloud, affirming that God was ever present and caring for His children; and when the child asked me how I was going to get her hand out, I replied, "I don't know; but I do know that He will show me the way." In a few moments I was able, with the help of a wrench, to force the guard off, and her hand was freed, a poor, discolored thing, scarcely resembling the other. My sense of gratitude for Christian Science, which had taught me that God is so near, a very present help in time of trouble, seemed to lift me to the top of the mountain. I covered the hand up, and taking her on my knee persistently affirmed God's allness, declaring that there was not an element in God's spiritual idea that could be hurt or disfigured in any way. In a very short time I put her on a couch, where she slept for about two hours. When she awoke there was nothing but a slight swelling and one little bruise to tell the story of the accident. The child never mentioned the incident again, except to whisper to me the next day that both hands looked alike.

It is impossible for me to express in words my gratitude for Christian Science; for we have proved that there is no human problem that this truth cannot heal when it is properly, lovingly, and persistently applied, be it disease, inharmony in the home, financial difficulties, or sin in any of its forms. My greatest desire now is to understand more of this glorious Science, in order to help others as I have been helped, and to prove myself a worthy follower of Jesus the Christ; for I know that "whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."—(Mrs.) Frances Marion Jukes, Vancouver, British Columbia.
