[Written for the Sentinel]

There is No Death

Eternal Life forever is;
Death but a mortal dream.
Those gone from sight still live and love;
They only absent seem.

Close, close they dwell in Love's own light,
Where darkness ne'er can come;
"Truth is revealed"*—there is no night
In Love's celestial home.

Good is not lost; God cannot die,
But ever present He.
Oh, sing His praise! There is no death;
Man lives eternally.
