Christian Science
gives us a broader, deeper understanding of every phase of life.
Every
normal person desires freedom and light; but who is there who has not felt the darkness of a sense of bondage to fear, sickness, or some other ungodlike condition?
In
the sixth chapter of Luke we read, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Our attention has been drawn to an article entitled, "How the Mind Helps the Body," by "Medico," in your recent issue.
The statements made by the writer of an article in a recent issue entitled, "Discusses Christian Science," are rather absurd, and for that reason I beg space for a brief statement of facts.
A contributor's notes on the International Sunday school lesson in your recent issue contains references to Christian Science which are erroneous, and indicate not only a lack of knowledge on the subject but also a rather strained effort to say something unfavorable upon it.
Statements in a recent issue of the Globe-Gazette reported an evangelist, recently in Mason City, as having classified Christian Science among institutions of "false prophets.
"The inclosed check is sent as an expression of gratitude and love for the happy experience I was privileged to enjoy during my two weeks' stay at the Christian Science sanatorium.
That
was the most glorious of days when the women, coming to the sepulcher on the third morning after the crucifixion, found the stone rolled away and an angel clothed in white who told them that Jesus was risen.

To insure that complete lecture notices be printed in the Sentinel, detailed information should reach the Editorial Department regarding lectures in the United States and Canada, four weeks before the date of the lecture; in Great Britain and Ireland, five weeks before; in other European countries, six weeks before.
In the spring of 1919 a great sorrow came into my life.
I did not come to Christian Science for healing, but to have several questions concerning the enigma of mortal existence answered.
