As I have received help so many times from the testimonies...
As I have received help so many times from the testimonies in our periodicals, I wish to send mine for publication. Our children, a daughter of sixteen and a son of fourteen, have never depended on anything but Christian Science for healing. In our family of four it has been all-sufficient. At the birth of our children, in both instances, according to the laws of materia medica conditions were far from normal; but the understanding that the law of God makes null and void every other so-called law, proved a help. In caring for a three and a half pound baby, and later when spasms occurred due to teething, and when our boy had croup, Christian Science was the all-efficient remedy. Our children have had measles, chicken pox, and whooping cough, and Christian Science has always healed them.
On numerous occasions it has helped us in overcoming fevers, colds, and disorders which might have developed into something more serious. I once had a severe attack of ptomaine poisoning, and was in such extreme pain I could not think coherently. Christian Science help was asked for, and although it was a number of hours before there was relief, when recovery came it was complete. There was very little weakness, and the next day I ate as usual and was about my regular duties. I have had two very bad falls down a cellar stairway, and in both instances the immediate realization that "accidents are unknown to God," as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 424), and that therefore they can have no effect on God's child, proved a wonderful protection.
Through the demonstration of Christian Science we now have a settled home. Due to my husband's work, for ten years we had to keep moving from place to place. A favorite passage with me is the one Mrs. Eddy gives us on page 454 of Science and Health: "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way." During the trying period of moving about, these words frequently were a great help.
