Several years have passed since I first heard of Christian Science
Several years have passed since I first heard of Christian Science. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was brought into our home by a dear friend who was seeking health and was being treated by a Christian Science practitioner. I picked up the book at intervals and read, and it attracted me greatly. This friend, asked me if I would attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting with her, as she felt somewhat strange; and I myself yearned to find out more about this religion. I can never forget the wonderful experience of that meeting. The peace and happiness and the love expressed have always remainded in thought. I knew at that moment, when hearing one and another testify, that I had found that for which I had longed and been hungry for years, the reassurance of the love of the ever present God. I had been an Episcopalian since a small child. My journey from sense to Soul has been slow, but full of blessed assurance of the loving Father's guidance and protection. I have had many wonderful and beautiful healings.
For years, in fact ever since I was a child, I had been subject to severe bilious attacks and headaches, which prostrated me for days, followed by extreme weakness. This trouble was healed entirely. I had also suffered for years from constipation and the evils attending it. That too has been healed permanently. Three years ago I had a felon on one of my fingers, which was very much inflamed and painful. My family begged me to poultice it. I, however, applied Christian Science. There was one night when the pain seemed more than I could bear, and I prayed earnestly to divine Love to help me. In the morning I found the finger improved. A new nail formed and grew, and at no time did I have that finger covered or apply any material remedy. It was a rapid and beautiful healing.
I am also deeply grateful for the loving protection of the dear ones overseas who took part in the late World War. Three members of our family were taken ill with influenza, but I am grateful to testify that I was entirely free and able to minister to their comfort and needs.
