Christian Science is indeed the light that "shineth in...
Christian Science is indeed the light that "shineth in darkness." This light shone for me fifteen years ago, when it healed me of nervous prostration, which manifested itself in insomnia, melancholia, and suicidal mania.
Although my husband had been told by a famous neurologist of New York city that my nervous system was completely shattered and that it was necessary to isolate me for at least six months, I was healed after my first treatment in Christian Science. In this first treatment I was introduced to the God of love, the loving heavenly Father-Mother. I was told that God would no more afflict His children than I would mine, and that because God had not sent this affliction, I did not have to keep it. I shall never forget the peace and joy that came over me when I heard those words. I had been touched by the healing Christ, and all was well again!
I went home with a great desire to live, and to be a helpful wife and a real mother. I was able to take up my duties in the home the very next day. Although this healing took place fifteen years ago, during the intervening years the joy has ever been with me of knowing that I was able to prove the divine Principle of healing in every problem that presented itself. There have been many problems, educational, physical, and in the form of accident. All these have been overcome, and have simply afforded opportunities to prove the allness of God, good.
