The teachings of Christian Science cannot be imbecile if Christian Science has been an incalculable benefit. The spiritual healing which it has reintroduced into the world cannot be separated from its teachings, for it is in proportion to the understanding of these teachings that healing is made possible. Christian Scientists agree with the bishop that "in sickness the first consideration is that resignation which rests on complete faith," but they demand that the resignation shall be to the will of God, infinite good, not to the power of disease, evil. They also question the completeness of a faith divided between prayer and a medical prescription.
