"He careth for you"

There are many of earth's inhabitants who go forth day

after day, burdened with the sense of having to make their own way, heavily laden with their own and others' responsibility, and wondering what possibly could be the divine purpose for such a strenuous and harassed existence. They may think of God as far removed from their daily experience, afar off in time of trouble; perhaps they may even think of Him as having started the universe in operation and then left it to care for itself.

But surely those who think like that may profitably call to remembrance the comforting words of Peter, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you;" and the enduring and familiar words of Christ Jesus, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Many may be familiar with these statements, but not aware that a correct understanding of them presents the possibility of the solution of their present problems; and they may not have discerned the practicality of these words, because they have failed to understand their meaning. However, the words of Christ Jesus, "Learn of me," which closely follow, clearly show the necessity for understanding the Christ; and because Christian Science gives to every earnest seeker this understanding, it can be called the Comforter, which Jesus promised the Father would send in his name, and which would teach all things, and bring to remembrance all that he had said.
