When I began the study of Christian Science a little over...
When I began the study of Christian Science a little over four years ago, I was a semi-invalid, with many of the ills "that flesh is heir to." I had undergone four major and three minor operations, and was told I should never be well until I had another. Thanks to Christian Science, I did not have to submit to another operation. I am able to do anything I wish, and no trace of the old trouble is left.
I have had many beautiful healings, a few of which I wish to mention. I had worn glasses since childhood, having been told by several eye specialists that I had been born with defective eyesight and would always have to wear glasses. They said they could not give me a perfect fit in glasses, but would do their best for me. After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for a few weeks, I laid the glasses aside and have never worn them since. I have been able to read all evening and do all kinds of sewing, and can see better than I could before.
I also suffered from stomach trouble in the very worst forms. I had been operated on for it. Besides this, I suffered from heart disease, an internal disorder, and very severe attacks of headache, which would keep me in bed for days and sometimes weeks, and from which at times only a hypodermic injection seemed to give me relief. Almost everything I took was through hypodermic injections, as I was able to retain very little in my stomach. I was subject to periodical attacks of rheumatism during which, at times, I had to use crutches. I had tried change of climate and other so-called means of relief, but only temporary help was received. My slowest healing was from this disease; and at times I became discouraged. Then I would remember Mrs. Eddy's statement on page 494 of Science and Health, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need;" and I knew the need was to prove the unreality of this belief of mortal mind. This has now been proved with the kind and loving help of a practitioner.
