I shall never forget the first Sunday that I attended a Christian Science service, for just the Sunday before that I had been examined by a noted surgeon who had said I was suffering from a cancer of the bowels, and his advice was to go to the hospital for an operation. To satisfy my friends, I consented to see a Christian Science practitioner and listen to what Christian Science had to offer in regard to my particular case. The next day I made an appointment, and before the practitioner was through telling me of and explaining to me the divine Principle of Christian Science healing, I had been inspired with an abundant faith in God. It appealed to me so strongly when she told me about God and His love, and the beautiful things of Spirit that were in store for me, if I would accept them. Before I left I had made up my mind that, regardless of what might come, I would leave all to God; and, as a matter of fact, from that time on I was more interested in knowing God and His relation to man than I was in getting well. A copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was lent me, and I went home. I told my wife I was not going to the hospital, nor would I take any more medicine; but I was going to get well. I started to read Science and Health, and wherever I opened the book there seemed to be a message of Love expressly for me. It seemed as if happiness were showered upon me, day and night. The result of that visit was that in one week from that day I went back to work. I have not missed a week's time on account of sickness since, and that was almost six years ago. What I am and have to-day came to me by reliance on Principle, through the demonstration of Christian Science.

I am so grateful that I am living in this day when Christian healing is being demonstrated as when Jesus was here, and that I have been able, in a degree, to touch the hem of the Christ-garment, which heals and saves. I am indeed grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her generous gift to the world, for her spiritual interpretation of the Scriptures, for her reflection of God to humanity. I am also grateful for the Christian Science churches, which are monuments of the healing Christ, and for all the Christian Science literature, which is overflowing with spiritual good.
