When Christian Science was presented to me by a dear...

When Christian Science was presented to me by a dear friend, I found an answer to my prayers. At the time I was suffering from a diseased condition of a bone in my left foot. A doctor who was a bone specialist gave me no hope of cure, but suggested an operation, saying that he might relieve the pain somewhat by scraping the bone. It was then I was led to have Christian Science treatment. This was lovingly given; and in less than a week I was completely healed of this trouble.

From childhood I had been subject during the winter to frequent attacks of tonsillitis and earache, which often caused me to be confined to my bed for days at a time. I also suffered from weak lungs, and had been told by a doctor that the lungs were affected. All of these conditions have been healed by the loving help of practitioners and the study and application of Christian Science, as taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It is now twelve years since I was healed of these ailments, and the healings have all been permanent.

The physical healings were wonderful to me, yet they have proved to be the smallest of the blessings of Christian Science. The clear perception of what real substance is, the daily unfoldment of what constitutes the real man, and the better understanding of the reality of good and the consequent unreality of evil,—these are the constant joys which Christian Science can give, and which nothing can take away. My heart is full of gratitude for its teachings and for the light thrown on the Bible, which is now an unfailing source of joy and comfort. I am conscious of the great debt the world owes Mrs. Eddy for her faithful perseverance and love in establishing the Cause of Christian Science, thus making available the truth about God and man; and I now express my gratitude for all the activities connected with the Christian Science movement.—(Mrs.) Hilda E. Lane, Canton, Ohio.
