It is with a joyful sense of gratitude that I testify to the healing and renewing power of Christian Science. The truth of Christian Science came to me in my hour of greatest need. Immediately after graduating from high school, I went to New York to study music. I had studied for five years when my health gave way and a nervous breakdown resulted. For several years I was under the care of noted specialists and physicians. An organic disorder that had long troubled me became greatly aggravated, and I was obliged to give up my work entirely. After I had submitted to an operation, which did not benefit me, my parents sent me to California, hoping that a change of climate would bring relief. While I was there, Christian Science was presented to me, and I asked for treatment. Almost at once conditions were improved; and within a year I was back at my post, doing a greater amount of work than ever before.
That was over twelve years ago. Since that time many healings have come to me. One physical condition, however, was not completely overcome, although many practitioners tried to help me. Even though the healing was not realized, however, I continued to grow in the understanding of Truth, and within the past year the healing took place. I asked for absent treatment from a practitioner on the other side of the continent, and in two months the healing was completed.
For these healings I am indeed grateful, but words fail to express my deep gratitude for the corrected thinking and the complete change for good that Christian Science has brought into my life. My daily prayer is that I may reflect more of the divine Principle that heals and saves, and thus show my gratitude for benefits received.—(Miss) Florence Middaugh, Los Angeles, California.
