My youngest child was born in July, 1910

My youngest child was born in July, 1910. When he was ten days old, he had an attack of acute indigestion, which prevented him from taking nourishment, with the resulting effects of continual convulsions. His little body also, from head to toe, was covered with what was called eczema. Our family physician, whom we loved and in whom we had full confidence, finally exhausted his resources of skill and experience, and with tears in his eyes regretted that he could not relieve the situation, which had become most alarming.

At this critical time a Christian Science practitioner was called. She advised us to dismiss at once the medical nurse, who was filled with fear at the alarming condition of the baby, and to place absolute reliance upon spiritual laws for the healing. this was joyously and gladly done, as I was not at all in sympathy with the medical treatment applied by the nurse.

Within forty-eight hours harmonious action was established. A discharge from the bowels was healed immediately, the convulsions ceased, the eczema disappeared, and the food was digested perfectly. For the first time the baby was washed, dressed, and placed in the sunshine. It was our custom to go to the seashore every summer, but contemplation of another change of milk filled me with fear, and I doubted the advisability of risking it. With the help of the practitioner, however, the fear was removed, and the change of nourishment was made without the slightest ill effects. From that time on the child thrived, and has unfolded into sturdy boyhood.
