I had been ill for two years

I had been ill for two years. I suffered all the time, and was a burden to myself and to my family. Three doctors told me I had heart trouble. When we moved to another town and went to a doctor there, he told me I had heart leakage, and said if I wanted to live, I must get to a very low altitude. I knew that was impossible, as we did not have the money to take us there. I had to sit up in bed night after night; and at times it was very difficult to breathe. I could not walk a block without stopping several times. My heart always beat so loud and fast that my life had become a misery and torture to me. I was cross to my husband and our children, and had given up all hope.

Then one day a Christian Science practitioner stopped at our home on an errand. I told her of my trouble; and I shall never forget the sweet words of hope she gave me. She told me to read the ninety-first psalm, and promised to pray for me, as we are taught in Christian Science. I read and reread it, and new hope came to me. As I read the testimonies in a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel left by the practitioner I knew that God never meant me to be sick. I told my husband I should get well. He said, "You surely will;" and we both began to read. Oh, the joy, the light, the love, that came to me! I cannot express it. In a few days I could walk the length of many blocks and not tire. days have never had to sit up a night since. My nose bled every time I stooped over, but it has never done so since. I had been going to a doctor every six days. I have thought of but one physician since, and that is God. The beautiful words of Mrs. Eddy have been my guide. Since my healing our baby has been healed of a severe sickness of the stomach. Every lesser trouble has also been overcome.

Now my family and I are healthy and happy. Our hearts are filled with gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for leading us to the beautiful light that is the pathway of Love and Truth.—(Mrs.)Clara Dyer, Longmont, Colo.
