Among the Churches

Current Notes

Milwaukee Sentinel

Milwaukee, Wis. (Third Church).—Milwaukee's new Christian Science church at Sherman Boulevard and Locust Street has now opened its doors to the public. It is known as Third Church of Christ, Scientist. The structure is said to be one of the most modern and completely equipped church buildings in the world. The organ, including a special "echo organ" with all the latest electrical appliances,—a local product,—is being paid for by the Sunday school. Another special feature is the lighting. The church is of the classic Ionic style of architecture. The dimensions are one hundred and four by sixty-four feet, with entrances on Sherman Boulevard and Locust Street. Members of other Christian Science churches here and throughout the state and nation made contributions for the erection of the structures.

The new congregation was formed when the church members of Second Church increased to an extent which exceeded the capacity of their home at 2720 Highland Avenue.—Milwaukee Sentinel.
