I wish to give my long delayed testimony of the healing...

I wish to give my long delayed testimony of the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science, as discovered and founded by Mary Baker Eddy. I was drawn to investigate its teaching by what it had done for many with whom I came in contact, and by noticing their loving interest in others.

I had been in poor health most of the time for a number of years; also was much worried over the physical condition of my little girl. I finally decided to see a Christian Science practitioner; so went to see one of those who had told me something of the healing done in Christian Science. I found a Christian Science practitioner there, and made an appointment with her. I wished to be healed of headaches of years' standing, of my worry over my little girl's weak heart and what physicians called milk poison. These were all healed with one treatment. My fear for my little girl was destroyed, and I was told to give her milk or anything she wanted. This I did; she drank a glass of milk that evening. She had never been able to take milk, even in food, without being thrown in a short time into intense pain which lasted for hours. From then on she drank milk when she wished with no bad results, and began to gain in weight; whereas before, she had remained the same in weight for two years. I also removed a body support I had worn for years. I have never needed it since; nor have I had a return of the headaches, which had brothered me for years much of the time, and which material remedies had failed to cure or even relieve. I felt so sure that I should never need material remedies again that I emptied out the contents of two chests of homeopathic remedies, together with many bottles, powders, and other so-called remedies. I had at one time before this commenced the study of allopathy, for I had always felt a desire to help others, but gave it up on account of poor health. I had a number of medical books, too, which I burned.

For these healings and many, many others I am most grateful; grateful also for the privilege of class instruction; for membership in The Mother Church; for teaching in the Sunday school; also for being able to help others. Words fail to express the gratitude I feel that Christian Science has met my every need for about nineteen years. I am grateful for our literature; and to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to the world "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," wherewith to unlock the treasures of truth contained in the Bible; also for our Church Manual to guide us in our every church activity; and for what Christian Science is doing for the whole of mankind.
