I should love to tell some of my experiences in reading...

I should love to tell some of my experiences in reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," written by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. One day I went to a Christian Science church and was taken suddenly ill, suffering extreme pain. I was an entire stranger in the city, and did not know where to go or what to do; but I raised my eyes, and right over the Reader's head I read these words from Science and Health (p. 494): "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Not a bit of pain or fear was left; and I was so thankful that Mrs. Eddy had given the privilege of putting those words in our churches.

Another experience I had that called for deep gratitude. My boy, when nine days old, had whooping cough; and it left his heart in a bad condition. One day, after we knew of Christian Science, he got to running with his brother; and when he came in he was nearly exhausted. He went into a room by himself, and lay down on the floor and tried to read. I went in where he was and could not detect life in him; and the thought came to me: "What shall I do? Had I better tell it to the neighbors and get help?" But I thought of the Shunammite woman, that she would not even tell the father of the child's death. So I sat down right beside him and began to read aloud to him; and in a few minutes he drew a long breath and rolled over on the floor.

I am thankful for all our periodicals and for all of our Leader's writings. I find something new in the Bible every time I read it through.
