God's Gifts

There is always something more to be said on the subject of gifts. Since God, divine Love, is the infinite Giver, there is always something to learn about His gifts; always more to discover of the magnitude and wonder and beauty of His infinite bestowals. The very fact that He is infinite Love, hence infinitely loving, makes it quite impossible for Him to do less than pour out continually all good upon His creation. His gifts, therefore, can never stop flowing ceaselessly; and since they are conceived by divine Love, they must partake of Love's nature, must ever be like the Giver; hence their only activity must be to bless.

Every gift of God, therefore, must satisfy, strengthen, uplift, sustain; and because they all express His divine, infinite qualities, they unerringly meet every possible need of man and the universe. To attempt to enumerate the qualities from which comes such perfect expression would be to attempt to number the infinite. The Psalmist, however, sang:

"O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him,... talk ye of all his wondrous works." The Bible therefore instructs us to dwell on His glories; and nothing but good can come from contemplating His marvelous attributes.
