Christian Scientists could never say that God was crucified
Chronicle
Christian Scientists could never say that God was crucified. They accept unreservedly the Scriptural teachings which indicate in clearest language that Christ Jesus was not God, and that Christ is the Son of God; that Christ Jesus showed mankind the glory of the Father and the truth about the Father's works. He overcame every law of the flesh, healed the sick, and raised the dead. He submitted to the crucifixion to prove for all time that death could not destroy the true man, the son of God; and he returned to his followers after that event, and remained unchanged until his ascension above matter or the flesh, when he rose beyond human apprehension.
Christian Scientists are striving to follow the commands of Jesus, who healed sick people, not by ignoring the physical but by demonstrating, through his understanding of God and of true being, the marvelous effects on the body of spiritual understanding. He proved by his mighty acts that the evils of sin, disease, and death coincide with ignorance of Deity, and disappear where God is revealed and known. On page vii of the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes: "Ignorance of God is no longer the stepping-stone to faith. The only guarantee of obedience is a right apprehension of Him whom to know aright is Life eternal. Though empires fall, 'the Lord shall reign forever.'"
