I was a practitioner of medicine for twenty years before coming in contact in any way with Christian Science. I was then called into a home to see a child whose mother and her people were Scientists, but whose father was not, the latter fact being the reason for their calling a doctor. This child had typhoid fever; and a Christian Science practitioner who had been called to the home was giving the case much loving care and attention. Through this experience and association with the Scientists, I began looking into the teachings of Christian Science; and the practice of materia medica was proved futile to me. I continued the study of this teaching, my wife also being interested, with the result that we are now both members of the Christian Science Society here; also of The Mother Church.

Since taking up the study of Christian Science we have had many healings in our home. It has been our only remedy for ten years. I had a cancer on my lip which had been removed by a cancer specialist while I was a practicing physician. This gave me great pain, and afterward returned. I then applied to a Christian Science practitioner, and it was removed without pain. The healing has been permanent. We have also had healings of goiter, rheumatism, tonsillitis, croup, scarlet fever, measles, ivy poisoning, and headaches.

For all of these blessings I am most grateful.
