[Written for the Sentinel]
God Changeth Not
Life
changeth not.
Dreams only flee away,
As shadows of the night;
Remaineth, heaven's day.
Truth changeth not.
In right we can confide;
We build upon the Rock,
And safely there abide.
Love changeth not.
'T is human sense's sway
That ebbs and flows,—then dies;
But Love abides alway.
God changeth not.
Time fadeth quite away;
Immortal dawn appears;
Eternity holds sway.
