Lakeland, Fla. (Society).—The Christian Science church edifice, which is now completed, is one of the most imposing church buildings in Lakeland. It is constructed of smooth surface white cement blocks, the style of architecture adopted being distinctly Grecian. In 1915, a few Christian Scientists met in Lakeland and held services in a Lakeland home. In 1919 the Christian Science Society was organized as an authorized branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. In December of 1922, at the annual meeting, the members decided that they should have a church home.—Star-Telegram.
