Please permit the correction of an erroneous statement pertaining to Christian Science in the serial story, "Bread," published in a recent issue. Christian Scientists protest against the unjust and misleading description of their religion included therein. A teaching which is demonstrable, which makes for intelligence, for development of character and pure living, cannot justly be termed "idiotic." The lives and character of Christian Scientists are indisputable evidence of what Christian Science is and what it does for mankind; and it is not fair to that religion or just to your readers that it should be thus characterized. Christian Science has established its place in the experience of mankind by the practical demonstration of its teachings. This is substantiated in almost every community in the civilized world by people who can bear grateful testimony to the benefits derived from this religion in the overcoming of sin, sickness, and all manner of evil.
